Passage (excerpt, paragraph 2): “That same year, Pellegrin and Coates, in an article in the Administrative Science Quarterly, discussed Maslow's ‘well known formulation’ on motivation in relation to executive career success, and McGregor, presenting at a conference at MIT, credited the influence of Maslow on his work. Two years later both the McGregor presentation and the Pellegrin and Coates article were reproduced by Davis and Scott (1959) in a book of readings on Human Relations in business. A revised version of the McGregor paper appeared in The Management Review but without the previous reference to Maslow. It was McGregor's (1960) popular book that restored reference to Maslow and helped establish McGregor as Maslow's popularizer among business educators.”
