Arc Length and the Catenary

The arc length of $y=f(x)$ is $\int\sqrt{1+(y')^2}\,dx$; for the catenary $y=a\cosh(x/a)$ the identity $1+\sinh^2=\cosh^2$ erases the square root, giving length $a\sinh(x_1/a)$.
